What’s Your Move?

With less than 100 days to the end of the year, what’s up?

New Year’s Day is always littered with people making resolutions they won’t keep past the first few weeks. It has become like a ritual everyone does but no one really pays attention to. I feel people aren’t intentional about their resolutions that’s why they don’t get to keep them.

It’s almost like everyone is fine and living their lives, then, all of a sudden on the 1st of January, they come up with this list of changes they want to effect in the new year. How does that work?

I think making a resolution should be intentional and can happen at any given time.

A better approach to becoming a better person (next year) is to start thinking about the changes you want now. There’s the need to figure out why you want those changes, and the steps you need to take to implement the changes. This is what it means to be intentional about it.

After figuring out all you need to figure out, the good news is that you really don’t have to wait till January 1 to start being the better person you want to be. It’s funny because it’s not like there’s an angel or a fairy waiting for us all [only] on the first day of January; every day is basically the same 🤷🏽‍♂️ so why wait?

I have personally been a victim of the New Year Resolution syndrome that just comes and goes faster than fever. Maybe it should be called the New Year’s Resolution Fever 🤔. That sounds awesome 😀!

So yeah, I’ve been a victim for as long as I can remember but while thinking about possible reasons why grand plans are made and never carried out, it occurred to me that maybe these plans weren’t properly prepared and grounded.

If you think there’s any area of your life you need to make better, why not start now? Figure out what you need to do, then figure out how you need to do it. It really doesn’t matter how long this planning phase lasts and no, you don’t need to wait till the new year to make resolutions.

Wouldn’t it be better if you have everything figured out (for the most part) now, and then you walk into the new year a brand new person? As opposed to walking into the new year the same old person but hoping you’d somehow change.

Be intentional.

Just try be you ... and try just go and make something...then you start see you can change everything .
