Drug Free Christmas
With the cigarette within my fingers
I wonder how I have dwelled upon drugs as my feast
And how I have been trapped in the nest
I couldn't even know what's next
As all that mattered was how to get money to buy my favorite and best
My favorite and best, which was causing pain in my chest
And giving me unrest
I realized I wasn't fulfilling purpose
But I couldn't resist the drugs, of course
Each day I took drugs as my tea
The way it affects my body system, I couldn't see
But deep inside of me was the will
The will to stop my ill habits
Deep inside of me lies the determination to stop my addiction
In fact, I upgraded from cigarettes to pipes
Not realizing that each upgrading was downgrading my body system
I didn't stop my addiction till my body system started to malfunction
My admission to the hospital
Made me realize that the sniffs, the puffs and the injections
Has attacked my intestines
And that was the result of addiction to drugs
And this made me long for a season
When we will only sensate the Aroma of the chicken and seasonings from the kitchen
And not the smoke and puffs from the cigarettes
A season, when everyone will be free from harmful substances
And abstinence from drugs will be the ultimate goal
And it's the drug free Christmas
Have a drug free Christmas
I am one of the few fortunate beings never to have tasted drugs and seeing the effects of people's lives, the potential damage they face and of course how they are losing their sense of worth.
Life is more precious and we all should do better with our lives. Say no to drugs. Save yourself from the addiction and seek for help!
