Poetic Film Review: Ordinary Decent Criminal (2000)

In Dublin's streets where crime does roam,
Lies Michael Lynch, a legend known.
With heists so daring, he breaks the law,
Defying authorities with each flaw.

Living with two women, his life a thrill,
Challenging norms, against his will.
But when a heist goes wrong, trouble brews,
And Lynch must face the consequences, he must choose.

Compared to Cahill, a familiar tale,
But with Hollywood stars, the film does sail.
A comedy twist, a happy end,
But does it truly justice lend?

A cheap imitation, some may say,
Of a better film in every way.
For those who seek a bit of fun,
Ordinary Decent Criminal is the one.

But for those who seek a deeper view,
Watch The General, the story true.
For Lynch's tale, though entertaining,
Fails to capture Cahill's truest meaning.
