Poetic Film Review: Wheels (Točkovi, 1998)
In the heart of Serbia, a story unfolds,
Where darkness and humor intertwine and mold.
A young man seeks money, his desperation clear,
As the rain pours down, and danger draws near.
A flat tire leads him to a motel, a shelter for the night,
But little does he know, it's the start of a fright.
Accused of being a killer, the guests turn on him,
Forced to defend himself, the situation grows dim.
Inspired by Tarantino, but rooted in history's pain,
Wheels delves into the darkness, where secrets remain.
Each character hides a dark past, a tale to tell,
Reflecting the society of a turbulent spell.
With a talented cast and a balance of violence and wit,
Milosavljević crafts a tale that's hard to quit.
Though the ending may falter, the journey is worth the ride,
For fans of dark comedies, it's a film to abide.
So take a seat, and watch as the story unfolds,
In Wheels, where darkness and humor hold.
A commentary on a troubled time, a reflection of the past,
A film that entertains, with a message that will last.
