The movie I am going to share with you today is based on a real-life incident in India. The movie is called "Mission Raniganj" The Great India Rescue. This movie is based on a true story of the rescue of 65 workers trapped in a mine in Raniganj coalfield, West Bengal in November 1989. In this incident, an engineer named Yashwant Singh Gill and his team led the rescue operation and Akshay Kumar plays the role of Yashwant Singh Gill in this movie.

The movie shows the Raniganj coal mine collapsing and flooding, trapping 65 workers inside the mine. Then it shows how and after how many hours of effort they were rescued. Many techniques were used to rescue these 65 workers but none of them worked properly, finally a special capsule was made under the guidance of engineer Yashwant Singh Gill through which all the workers were rescued one by one after about 48 hours of effort. This entire rescue operation was led by engineer Yashwant Singh Gill. For this operation, he became known as "Capsule Gill" and was later honored with the Jeevan Raksha Padak by the President.

| Did the movie make you more curious about the real-life story?

Yes, of course. When I first started watching this movie, I still did not know that it was based on a true story. When I was almost finished watching the movie, I found out that a true story from India was portrayed in the movie. I was very curious about it, so I wanted to know more about whether what was shown in the movie actually happened or if the situation was worse. Although I tried to find out by searching on Google, I later found that Google also tells exactly what was shown in the movie. This movie created a different feeling in me, which made me even more curious about it. However, I am happy to know that all 65 workers were rescued safely, they are fine and they are with their families.

As I said before, this movie created a different feeling in my mind, so many things in it felt emotional to me. However, the most emotional moment in the movie for me was the scene where Yashwant Singh Gill fainted after he went down to the coal mine and took everyone out of the mine. Due to the collapse of the mine, carbon dioxide gas was being produced inside the mine, and when all the workers were being taken out of the mine one by one, the gas level kept increasing. Despite seeing such a dangerous situation, Yashwant Singh Gill did not come out of the mine first, but helped all the workers to come out first.

When it was finally his turn to come out of the mine, he fainted for a while due to the effect of carbon dioxide gas. Those who were rescuing him above called Yashwant Singh many times but were not getting any response from him. Due to which everyone assumed for a moment that Yashwant Singh Gill was no longer alive. However, after a while, Yashwant Singh Gill regained consciousness and came out of the mine after a lot of effort. This moment in the movie was quite emotional for me because like everyone else in the movie, I also thought for a while that maybe Yashwant was no longer alive🥲. But in the end, he was able to get out of the mine safely.
| What lessons did you learn from the true story portrayed?

This movie is one of the most educational movies I have ever seen. Failure, emotion, love, strength have all been shown in this movie. This movie taught me that no matter what happens in life, you can never give up, you have to keep trying until the last moment of your life. It also taught me how to work together as a team. Since childhood, I have been hearing the saying "Say unity", I saw that unity in this movie. I saw how Yashwant Singh Gill's rescue team worked together as a team. I also saw how to handle yourself in the toughest situations of life, without giving up. Maybe because of all these reasons, 65 workers in that mine are alive today. 😊
| How did it make you feel about the people or time period it represented?

I salute and have a lot of respect from the bottom of my heart for the person who is represented in this movie. The movie reveals the bravery and life-saving aspect of Yashwant Singh Gill. If he had not taken the responsibility of this rescue operation on his own, then maybe those 65 workers would not have been saved. It was because of his intelligence and bravery that those workers survived. For this great work of Yashwant Singh Gill, the President of India honored him with the title of Life-Saving Officer. Apart from this, he also earned a lot of love and blessings from the people of the country.☺️
