The Mundane as Art Round Nine. Moss and Lichen! (contest by @kus-knee)

Couple of days ago I've noticed an interesting photo in @oldtimer 's blog. A photo of huge rock (at least it looks like rock) completely covered with all kind of different lichen. Looks almost like a painting. Why did he took photo of it? Well it's another round (9th) of a contest organized by @kus-knee. This time he is looking for photos of moss and lichen. Something we don't usually search and admire ... at least i thought that.

The photos in the original thread got me intrigued. I know I've seen many great moss scenes back in my airsoft times while we were spending every Sunday morning in the woods. So i browsed all of my photos ... nothing. Checked most of my hiking photos ... nothing. Oh well i guess it's time to get out and find moss and lichen.

I was searching for a moss composition all around the area but i couldn't find anything worth taking photos. But than on my evening walk with my dog i noticed a tree behind my apartment building that had really interesting white mushrooms growing out of a thin layer of moss. That was it i thought. I just needed some light to make a decent photo with my old camera =)

The next day was a blast. Extra sunny winter's day. Perfect for my intentions. So this is what i managed to get. I hope you like it.

This one i believe came out the best. What do you think?

I tried to figure out what type of lichen/fungi this is

But i have no idea! =) It just looks cool.

I had some crazy looks at my direction while i was taking photo of moss

But who cares!?! STEEM ON !!
