That Time I Went To Jail For Murder...steemCreated with Sketch.

in #murder7 years ago (edited)

The first time I’d been ever been arrested I was about 17. Thinking back on it now it seems rather fitting for something you'd see in a crazy movie but it actually happened. I stopped over to my best friend Ron’s house with my brother just to hang out for a bit. I was well known in the area because he and I had known one another since we were young. With that he tells me someone let him know someone Jacob left his leather jacket at the park. I said well I guess I should go grab my jacket. Instead, of walking the two or so blocks to the park I wanted to show off my Chevy Iroc-Z (it was a cool car at the time). The same make as model as the photo above. My brother asks to go and I jokingly told him to just wait at the house because we may be going to jail where we’re going. So now it’s Ron and two of our friends from the neighborhood piling into this small car. We take off and instead of making the turn into the alley we kept going straight (actual location below).

Out of nowhere a cop car is hauling ass through a park over the baseball diamond in our direction (the path to the right of the fence). My thoughts were is this really happening. In that neighborhood they are known to arrest young black males just because they can without probable cause amongst other things. I did not want to get beaten so my car was in reverse and I just gunned it. I had to be doing at least 50mph in reverse with the logic that my car is much faster and I can outrun them (actual street below).

Well just as everything else that did not go as planned. Ron grabbed the steering wheel and nearly killed us all. For anyone that’s ever driven an actual sports car typically the steering is very tight. After he jerked the wheel it spun us around like the teacups at Six Flags theme parks when you’re going entirely to fast.

So my car is no longer on the road and is entrenched in someone’s side yard. There are now cops helping to ensure we safely exit the vehicle. I couldn’t see what was going on as I was pulled out of the car, faced place into the dirt and had a gun to the left and right of my head. Below where the first tree is to the right my car was stuck there. At the time they didn't have trees and probably planted them to prevent it from ever happening again.

Within seconds I was grabbed and tossed into the back of a paddy wagon (police van). This is where it began to get really sketchy. My friends were put into a separate part of the van. I couldn’t hear anything from the soundproofing. I’m told to sit still, place my hands on my knees and a bar comes down locking my arms and hands in place. It was the same sort of bar as the roller coasters use. The first question I’m hit with is why’d you run. I simply replied the gas pedal got stuck and that they should ask GM (general motors) about the problem. Soon enough I can see they don’t even care about that and it becomes apparent there is a bigger agenda they want to push. From there he proceeds to hit me with a baton in the face and I just sat there quiet regardless.

Moments later he asks me what do I know about guns. So I tell him I know people that own guns. Then he starts to ask more questions about guns. He eventually tells me just want to know why. I’m thinking what in the hell is going on here. Just give me a ticket or whatever so I can be on my way.

He doesn’t say anything else and we’re taken to the police. Before we were taken I told them to turn off my car because gas isn’t cheap. We are now walking together and cuffed on our way inside the station. During the walk one of the officers felt the need to make fun of us saying pigs ain’t sh*t and trying to mock everything he possibly could until he just laughed at us.

We go into the police station and I’ll never forget the stench. There were a lot of homeless people in near the entrance for what I have no idea as I didn’t have time to ask. From there the four of us are taken to a room, told to sit on the floor along the wall and hold our right hand up. We were then cuffed to the wall and sat facing an empty desk. Eventually a huge guy walks in as though he is seeing Christmas for the first time. He tells us that we should know what we want to tell our mothers’ for our one phone call. That is considering that we would be spending the rest of our lives in jail according to him.

He says he knows all about the murders and found the gun in my car linking us to the over six unsolved homicides. Even still my friends and I were just quiet. The big cop gets up from his desk and leaves the room calmly. He returns with a clear evidence bag. My friends and I can see there is a gun inside the bag. We weren’t aware of all types of laws but knew there was no way in hell they were going to frame murder charges on us. Big cop undoes our cuffs one by one and says that we need to sit still. He then puts on a set of gloves and throws the gun at us one by one. The only thing running through my head right now is “wow, really”.

I don’t think the whole event took more than three hours and I was back to my car and just tired. Ron’s mom picked us up and didn’t even want to know why as she knew the cops were dirty in the area. As a failed apology they turned off my car and moved it from the yard but not before running out most of the gas. I got my brother and we just headed home. In most cases the story would be over there but not quite in this case.

We were about 15 minutes from our house and my car just ran out of gas. The nearest gas station was about a 10-minute drive so we start to push. Luckily, a guy comes along and asks if we wanted him to push our car with his and I said yes. So I jumped in the car but my brother wasn’t fast enough as the guy pushed my car so fast it was insane. My brother’s door was open and closed on its own. I could see him getting smaller and smaller in the rear-view mirror. Even though I had a horrible evening him getting left walking the rest of the way made for a good laugh.

Holy shit, a career in law enforcement, or politics, is to a psychopath what a pile of shit is to a fly.

My friend, I couldn't agree more. Those are the worst types because they simply want to make a way toward "results" and no one wants to be the wiser as to how.

Yeah, politicians spew empty rhetoric as if they had no brains in their skulls, and the law enforcement do their legal violence. Typical.

Crazy! Something that's so unbelievable happens all the time sadly. Glad you can talk about it and reflect on it like that & share with us. Just crazy!!

Wowwwwww! I can't believe that happened to you. It reminds me of "Straight Outta Compton" movie. That's insane man! If that happened to me, I will pee in my pants for sure.

You left your brother at the end of the story. Now that's bad ass! lol!

Wow...seems unreal. Incredible.

Thanks. Its okay now that I'm older to reflect on such stuff but certainly sucked going through it at the moment. Til this day Ron's mother doesn't even know why we were taken to the station as she just assumed it was over a curfew violation.
