LAST CONCERT of The Beatles: January 30, 1969

in #music8 years ago (edited)

On January 30, 1969, it was a date marked by an event that we could say, closed an era of music, because that day the LAST CONCERT of The Beatles was made.

This unexpected and improvised concert takes place within the framework of the recording of what we would call today a "reality show", in which The Beatles decided to record during the rehearsals and recordings of their album Let It Be, which although the last one to be published, it was not the last one they recorded, remember that later they recorded Abbey Road.

During the recordings of this documentary, the tensions of the group were growing - perhaps also due to the pressure that implied being recorded all the time. The fact is that this stage marks a break in the team spirit that characterized the band.

ON THE ¨APPLE¨ ROOF

The band also had problems when choosing a location to perform the concert. At first they thought about doing it on a boat on the River Thames, in the Tunisian desert or even at the Colosseum in Rome. They finally got on the roof of the Apple Corps building on Savile Row in London.

Here I leave one of the songs played at the concert

Don't Let Me Down

Lennon/McCartney

I would like to know your opinions and comments about it
