The most listened type of music in Romania !!!

in #music6 years ago (edited)

Hey ... dear steemians .. Today I want to talk about gypsy music in Romania .. more precisely, the type of music"Manea", a type of music that has come to be more listened to than classical music. Although people who listen to this kind of music do not seem to be seen too well, it does not seem to bother them.

This type of music (gypsy music) are a social phenomenon that dominates a significant part of society. performers of this genre of music, "Manelistii" have their own music, their way of speaking, dressing or interpreting personal success, their heroes, kings and emperors have their values, mainly the trick and the art of being a boss of boss. Hence, the enemies, who wear them, but do not have their value ...

At first glance, the world of this type of music seems simple, rudimentary, on the one hand, with barons with thick chain, BMWs and pink t-shirts rounded on the symbol of welfare, with "vagabonds" and bands of Gypsies, and on the other side with the bad world who envies them. It's not like that. Except for the trick, the universal constant of the manes, the message has changed over time, depending on the realities of the day.

This type of music (gypsy music) can be divided into "classical manele" and "modern manele". The "classical manele" are a Turkish-derived genre performed by "lăutari" in a lăutărească manner, while the "modern manele" are a mixture of Turkish, Greek, Arabic, Bulgarian and Serbian elements, generally using modern (electronic) instruments and beats.

Similar music styles are also present in other Balkan areas, like Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Bosnia, Greece and Turkey and with expatriates and emigrants originally from these regions. Related genres are Bulgarian Chalga (manele brought by Romanian visitors to Bulgaria is referred to as "Romanian chalga"), Greek modern Skiladiko and Serbian Turbo-folk, being a mixture of local folk Greek, Bulgarian and Serbian influences over a pop tune each one.

Why do some people despise this type of music "manelele" so much? The answer is simple: because they are singed by Gypsies.
All these cultural precedents show that in this type of music from Romania (gypsy music) we have nothing but a suburban cultural phenomenon, as they have always existed in many other cultures and which has not yet been exploited for commercial purposes only. Nothing more vulgar in reality than that World Music balkan of his Goran Bregovic or Kusturica to which we excite ourselves from snobbery.

This type of music, "Manele music", being a largely commercial genre, is promoted by producing videos. There is a clear differentiation between the singers according to the budget invested for this purpose.

Interpreters this type of music choose hyperbolising nicknames, such as Adrian Minune or Sorin Copilul de Aur, or names that highlight the localities Gabi from Oradea or Adi de la Valcea. Not always the maneuver interpreters have pseudonyms, sometimes they use their real names (partly, such as Florin Salam, Nicolae Guta , Vali Vijelie) or completely, like Mihai Priescu.

There are a significant number of listeners by this type of music in the country (particularly appreciated by young people), especially in rural areas and in city workers' neighborhoods.

It is estimated that the majority of the population, between 80% and 90%, listens this kind of music at least occasionally.
