Black - Pearl Jam (Piano Cover)

My piano version of Black by Pearl Jam. This is probably my favourite song. I did a whole session of recording but then deleted all of it. There is an obvious instinct to perform with impact when making these videos, however sometimes a song demands the bravery to play with humility and subtlety instead. Realising that, I then went back and recorded this video in the first take. I think the best version of this track can be seen with their youthful aggression on the 1992 Pearl Jam​ edition of MTV Unplugged, although the song has since matured with the band and they now play it with the sluggish exhaustion of a true victim of unrequited romance - which I absolutely love.
