Come on out here and do your thing!
Now on the third day on the bounce writing for the Steemit community. I am settling into a nice rhythm, and remembering some of my old tricks for getting the creative juices flowing.
Yes, that's right, I fired up the old cassette player.
Naturally enough, King Curtis was in there with one of the greatest bands of all time behind him and the first track came on and I realised that there are probably people out there who don't know about King Curtis.
Well, if you are one of those people, it is my pleasure to introduce the King - King Curtis.
I will post more about the King in the days and weeks to come. For an introduction to the man, and what I believe he stands for, let's have a quick listen to the title track for his 1969 album (I thought it was 1970, the internet is saying 1969):
Instant Groove.
The title of this is like another recipe from King Curtis' extensive cookbook of wonderful musical experiences. Perhaps his most famous recipe is "Memphis Soul Stew".
For now, let's start with "Instant Groove", because clearly it's quicker, and this is just a little blast of something awesome to kick off your day or evening or whatever in style.
King Curtis has an important message for us here on Steemit. Apparently the most important ingredient of "Instant Groove" is for "everybody to come on out here and do your thing".
What are you waiting for....?
Obey your King!
So, here you go, straight from the mouth and the horn of one of the many true Kings of the mythical Kingdom of America.
Instant Groove
by King Curtis
This is called Instant Groove.
Now… while we start to whip up the groove,
We want everybody to come on out here
And do your thing.
Now, everybody got a thing.
We want you to come on out here and do it now.
Because that’s what everybody is doing…
Their own thing.
That’s what I wanna see you do,
Right now.
Go on and get it it.
Go on and do it!
Do it one more time!
INCREDIBLE SAXOPHONE PLAYING OVER A BADASS BAND PLAYING A KILLER GROOVE!
Now, like I said,
Everybody’s got a thing.
We gonna let out bass player do his thing right now.
C’mon Jerry, go on and get down.
That’s it right there.
Work your show!

Whatever you do may seem insignificant to you, but it is most important that you do it.
