SPACE BRAIN 2462 - ORIGINAL STEEMIT MUSIC! - ELECTRONIC/SPACEY/INSTRUMENTAL
Overview of the whole Ableton file.
Overview of the whole Ableton file. This is a song I found the other day
from last September, I guess I forgot to export it, and it got lost in the shuffle of Ableton files being saved constantly haha. I really like this track, it's super simple in organization, just 3 instruments, but harmonically I really like how this track sounds, I thought the the progression was really interesting when I went went back and heard this last night.
Listen to SPACE BRAIN 2462 here.
The first instrument plays the main melody,
it's the super scifi bell/vibraphone kind of thing. I really like the intro progression, we are in D major, but the first chord is a broken up arpeggio of a Ddom7 (cause of the C natural). The second time around it's the same progression, but we begin on C natural, and end with an F and then to C. This all repeats, and the last time thru, we add some cool dissonance (which reminds me of scifi melodies) with the A# thrown in.
The main progression in the intro, described above.
The main progression in the intro, described above. After the intro, the additional,
2 instruments come, one of which is the Euro-Dance synth hit tone. I like how it's just in the background, not taking over the whole song and making it a dance thing. I think it just makes it seem more electronic and futurey, hence the the title of this song.

The harmony in the second half of the track
I really like, it has some awesome movements that keep the whole thing kind of dark, kind of mysterious and weird. We start on Amin, played A/C, and move up: | A#/D, B/D, C/E, C#/E, D/F, B/D, and B/D# |. It's a cool progression, and feels like it wants to resolve to an E, but goes back down to A minor, the iv.

Screenshot of the EuroDance synth progression. However, after it repeats (with additonal notes on the top of these chords),
we DO move into E minor, but we have some cool out of key notes like F natural, and a sharp 6 later on. I really like how the 3 parts work together to make the full harmony in this part. The end of the song feels like it's building to E again, with a Cmaj, Dmaj, and B7 (playing D#), but instead we just move to D# minor, starting with a tritone on A. I really like how this resolve feels a little confusing, but seems to work well.
The end of the track as described above.
