Aus-Rotten ...And Now Back To Our Programming

I've been absent from Steemit for a little bit now. It snowed quite a bit here, and between enjoying the fresh snow and some quality family time, I haven't had a lot of time to be on here.

Today I found the opportunity to hop back on for the first time in awhile. I've gotten so used to visiting the site daily, I felt pretty lost trying to figure out what I was doing again (haha). Anyways, I realized my last post was almost 6 days ago, so I decided I should make a post. I decided on another music post, and prepared to post an album by another band, We The Heathens.

Before I could, I realized my house had gotten pretty damn dirty during my break from reality. So, instead, I started cleaning, and jumped on YouTube. This was the first thing that popped up on my home page. Although I am no stranger to Aus-Rotten, or this album, it had been a few years since I had heard it, so I put it on.

Occasionally, I'll put on music I've been all-too-familiar with in the past, and I have this entire new-found appreciation/obsession; a quality I don't remember having for it in the past. Did something change for me? Or did I already have this obsession, and my memory of it has been lost in the caverns of my brain?

I guess my point is, this is a great album to clean your living room to.

I've heard Aus-Rotten called one of the most important bands of the 90's anarcho-punk scene. And I believe it(I was in my diapers in the 90's). Their 1994 EP Fuck Nazi Sympathy is another one of my personal favorites.

The four(sometimes five) member group were from Pittsburgh, PA, forming in 1991 and disbanding permanently in 2001(although most of them still play in other groups). Their style is a crusty-hardcore, their earlier work being most bass-heavy and their later work(such as this) being a little more in-your-face and a little more "metal-y".

Their lyrics deal with a large range of human and animal rights, far-left politics, feminism, equality, anti-fascism, etc. They deliver their messages by using a large nail gun to staple their music to your brain, and kicking your ass on their way out to make matters worse.

If you are a fan of crusty, angry, politically correct anarchists yelling at you, here's a band for you. If not, try it out, you might end up liking it. Maybe not though. Who cares :)

Fantastic Post!! Don't know how familiar you are with crust punk(sounds like quite a bit) but here are some other great bands from that particular punk genre: Anti-Product, The Pist, A-Political, Mankind? & Whorehouse of Representatives. The last being from Seattle. Part of the Puget Sound.

Yo man! I like to think of myself as somewhat familiar with crust, although I've never heard of Whorehouse of Representatives. I'll definitely check them out!

Thanks for stopping by! I was just on your page and thanks to you I'm listening to MRR Radio now!
