Austin Richard Post grew up in Texas where he found himself learning to play Guitar and watching football. Post looked for a way to express himself, and this expression was found through creating music. After the hit single "White Iverson" accumulating 30,000,000 views overnight the voice of Post would be forever embedded within R&B culture. Following the success of White Iverson, Post signed with "Republic" in August of 2016. Four months after being signed Post released his debut album, "Stoney".

We truly see Austin's love for music throughout the entire tracklist, from Hip-Hop, inspired Radio hits like ("Congratulations, "Money Made Me Do It", and "Go Flex") as well as his pop-inspired tracks like ("Feel", and "Deja-Vu"). Although Post's production value is high, we still see him at his roots with country music and his guitar in ("Broken Whisky Glass", and "Feeling Whitney").

Deja Vu.jpg

Austin's friend Justin Bieber collaborate on the track titled "Deja Vu". Since the release of Drake's "One Dance", every tracklist has to have an out-of-culture inspiration dance song, and this is it.

Being released over a year prior to this album it's surprising to see "White Iverson" make an appearance especially after the criticism and hate for the creation of the song. Despite the criticism, this song really helps bring the album togeather showing where and how Austin got to this point and the music he is making now.

Go Flex.jpg

Track nine "Go Flex" is one of Post's best put togeather songs on this album. It takes you through a journey of his smoking problems and how he "Doesn't know what to do anymore". Post introduces us into his love life and his struggle between fame and showing off the things he has to others.

"Congratulations", Post's biggest hit since his first single "White Iverson" created buzz and hype for his upcoming album. This song takes you through the lifestyle him and Quavo (FT) live every day from watching T.V and smoking or from middle school teachers telling them they would be failures. Post sits with middle fingers up during the creation of this song and you can truly hear it through his voice.

"Feeling Whitney", Stoney's final track is full of sorrow and want. He talks about a girl named "Whitney" who he misses, adores and how he hates the way they left off, this is shown in the line "To each their own, and find peace in knowing." On this track post is ultimately speaking to himself, patching and fixing things he talked about throughout the album; woman, money, and fame. Austin Richard Post truly finds peace at the end of his first debut album, Stoney.
