Using your first DAW

DAW(digital audio workstation) is a platform for musicians where you can edit, create ,mix, recreate, master your audio without the need of physical instruments. You can also connect any number of instruments to your DAWs. Currently DAWs have become the back bone of music industry, everyone uses them from country music artists to electronic music, from pop to hip hop, etc. Since there many DAWs available in the market today so which is the best one for you. In this article, i will try my best to help you choose just the daw for you.

All the major DAWs available today are great in making sounds and at the end of the day its not the DAW its the person sitting behind that DAW matters the most. You may have an excellent DAW but if you are not putting your effort and talent in the right way into that DAW then it won’t be much of a help to you. Its your creativity that will make the difference not a piece of software, so when buying your first DAW you should be sure that it will only take you halfway to your destination the next half is you.

There are many DAWs available today and some of them are as follows:

Initially since you are just starting out with your first DAW i would advice on not spending too much on the software, majority of the software do come up with their trial version. So fiddle around with the trial version for some time before going on to buy the actual software.

Always remember never try to copy any artists rather look for your own personality in your sound, if you copy someone who is already huge the chance of your music getting noticed gets reduced. Start slow then gradually build your own sound, as you slowly make progress you will start unlocking your DAWs true potential.

I personally use ableton and logic pro for sound design and like i said before its the person behind the DAW that matters, so there is no perfect DAW. If you know someone who uses a particular DAW i would highly recommend you use that since it will give you a head start, if you have any difficulties then you could ask that person and he will help you.

Lastly i would say that making your own sound takes quite a bit of time and effort so take this ride one step at a time and you should be good with any software since all of them can produce great sounds.
