Why I want to quite my day job and become a full time record producer.steemCreated with Sketch.

As far back as I can remember I have loved music. Music has always been around me, my dad used to play great old Canadian rock records like Streetheart and Prism, along with many others. My grandfathers schooled me in classic country music like Johnny Cash, George Jones, Willie, and Waylon. Cousins would introduce me to southern rock, my aunt rap and hip hop. And of course high school where the older kids would introduce me to metal and it and hard rock became my calling.

I had just picked up the guitar in grade 12, and the second I got to post secondary school (Electronics Technician) I hooked up with a dude who had a band I could join back in his home town. I played in that band until I finished school and realized I could kinda sing. So I moved to City and started what became a 6 year journey to find the 3 guys I have been playing with since 2001 (my brothers \m/).
In the middle of that 6 years was a enrolment and graduation with honours from The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences. I came back, the band put out an album, played a 200 shows in 3 years, while working full-time day jobs, burnt out, took a hiatus, had kids. And now I've leveraged my home against my dream home studio to start my dream.

Well I started really letting people know I was open a couple months ago and now I'm booked up for 4 months of projects. And the projects we are in the middle of are sounding great. The problem is the 40 hours minimum a week a day job takes away from your passion. I can't wait for the day that this is my day job, and I know is is going to happen sooner than later.

Cheers and thanks for reading. This is my first ever blog.
