Music plays an active role in the performance of our brains and music is also a big part of our lives, because that will explain how our brain responds to music without us knowing. For more details, please see the picture below.
1. SAD MUSIC OR HAPPY INFLUENCE HOW WE SEE THE NEUTRAL FACE
We can usually choose if part of the song is sad or happy but this is not just a subjective idea that comes from how this music affects our feelings. In fact, our brains actually respond differently to sad music and happy music.
Even short parts of sad or happy music can also affect us. A study shows that after listening to a short section of music, people usually interpret neutral expressions as happy people or sad people, to match the tone of music they hear. This also happens with facial expressions.
The interesting thing about how emotions are influenced by music is that there are two types of emotions related to music: perceived emotions and perceived emotions.
This means that sometimes we can understand the emotions of the music section without feeling it, which explains why some of us who listen to sad music enjoy it more than depression.
In essence, we do not feel various threats or dangers when listening to music so that we can feel emotions without feeling them, almost like the emotions represented.
2. VOICES CAN IMPROVE CREATIVITY
Sometimes we use tones to improve our performance, but when listening to noise, our concentration may be destroyed. Apparently the sound is a place for creativity.
The way it works is noise level is increasing processing difficulties that increase abstract processing which leads to higher creativity. In other words, when we struggle to process the things we normally do, we will usually end up with a creative approach.
However, in high noise levels, our creative thinking is disrupted because we are too confused and struggling to process information efficiently but that brings us to a creative approach, under pressure sometimes creative ideas arise.
3. MUSIC OPTIONS WE CAN PREDICT OUR PERSONALITY
In the study of couples who spend time together to get to know each other, knowing only 10 favorite songs alone can find out how the personality of a person or your partner. This study uses 5 personality traits for this test: openness to experience, extraversion, approval, emotional awareness and stability.
Interestingly, some of these traits are more accurately predicted based on one's hearing behavior than others. For example, openness, extraversion and emotional stability are the easiest ways to guess someone personally correctly. Awareness, on the other hand, is not so clear if it is based on musical tastes. The following is a table on how different genres adjust our personality, according to a study by Heriot-Watt University:
4. MUSIC CAN TRANSFER OUR ATTENTION WHEN DRIVING
Other research conducted by teenagers and teenagers who focus when they drive is influenced also by music. The drivers were tested when they also listened to their choice of songs provided by the researchers. The song is calm and "safe". Of course, their music is preferred but also proves to be more annoying and as a result, racers make many mistakes while driving where they drive more aggressively while listening to their own song choices.
5. MUSIC TRAINING CAN SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVE OUR MOTOR SYSTEM AND REASON ABILITY
We usually assume by learning baiik musical instruments for children but actually this function is more than we think. A study shows that children who practice musical instruments for 3 years or more will make children have better intelligence than those who have not studied the instrument at all. They are also tested in terms of vocabulary and non-verbs which involve understanding and analyzing visual information, such as identifying relationships, similarities and differences between forms and patterns.
