The Message
I woke up this morning to snow on the ground and kind of everywhere. While snow is beautiful, it can sometimes be a hassle as well. Luckily, this snow didn't require too much shoveling, but it was a very cold day nonetheless.
We were still able to get out this morning and go to church. Then after that, we stayed around the house and did some chores for most of the day. We did take a good amount of time to make some cookies. We tried out a new recipe for biscotti cookies. I didn't get any pictures of them, but they came out looking pretty good. I didn't try them myself though. We also made a few other Christmas treats to be given out as small gifts for friends.
I'm finishing the day with just over 9,000 steps. I didn't have a lot of active minutes today, but I did manage to get over 16 flights of stairs. I'm definitely tired though.
Continuing with the theme: Each night I post the song that was playing as I ended the workout and use that as the title for the post for that day. Today's song was The Message by Grand Master Flash and the Furious 5. I'm pretty sure this song has come up a few times since I started using song titles as the title of my post. It's definitely one of my favorite old-school hip-hop songs. It's got a good message. Well, it isn't so much of a message as it is a warning. It's a warning about all the trials and tribulations in life and it is encouraging the listener to prepare themselves for the battles and to make the right choices. It doesn't explicitly state that, but it is implied through the rhyme and the tone. I think it is also a warning to society in general a caution to treat people with respect and kindness because you never know what they're going through and how hard they are trying to resist the temptation to do wrong.
Well, that's it for tonight. I'll check in with you all tomorrow.
