Ah yes, inversions come after you get really good at playing the chords in root position. If you struggle to build the chords in root, then inversions will be even trickier. If you know the root, then inversions just come as more of a necessity in ease of playing. :)
I can play most of the root chords but use the inversions to make some parts of songs easier , however you just haveto listen cause some inversions sound awful
Yes, so much of choosing inversions has to do ultimately with the sound, so it's a juggle between what's playable and what sounds better sometimes. :)
