DTubeSnapX #9 - Do you use Choon?
In between sorting out the Steem giveaway for all the awesome people who gave us suggestions for names for our upcoming Tech channel - check post here - , and Sarah Louise @ultravioletmag and I thinking through and finalizing the name for the channel. I wanted to do this quick video about Choon!
Just now I wanted to listen to some music, so I went to check Choon out again after months of not using it, and it's so much better now.. It has so much more music on there!
Having met @termitemusic who uses it regularly and raved about it when we met at the London Steemit Social a few days ago, I went to check him out on Choon, and in fact, the background music playing in this dtubesnapX is one of his! Check it out LEFT JAB JAZZ' [MARKER PEN CHRONICLE]. - TERMITE. 白蚁.
I loved the idea of Choon before when I heard about it earlier this year and did recommend it to musicians around me, even my hubs has one song on there! But I think there was either not much on there at the time/it wasn't as easy to use as it is now, because I never used it again.
But this time checking it out, it's very different! I think it's great and very easy to use! If I'm ever on lap top and need music, I'm going straight to Choon next time!
Give Choon a try to explore new music and know that you're helping an artist out by just streaming it.
If you use Choon a lot, let me know if you have any tips/advice, or special artists for me to check out. Also, how do I make Notes so I can tip artists???
I know one way is to refer people, so here's a link you can use to "skip the artist waiting list" and join Choon if you want me to get 10 Notes ;) : https://account.choon.co/join/0gb8rso22of
If there are other ways to make Notes, please let me know!
Thanks for watching!!!
Much Love from Red

YES CHOON!!!!! Awesome!!
I have tried many music sites like this over the last year and Choon definitely has the edge!!! It is still very new but the reason I think it works is the listener earns for listening/creating a playlist too.
... As an artist, I can decide what % I get, and what % the listener who makes the playlist gets for listening to my track!!
I really believe in what this site does, as it literally cuts out every middleman in the distribution process!!! Music goes straight from artist to listener!!! On my choon, I get 67% and the listener gets 33%.
Imagine spotify, but instead of you paying to not have adverts, you make money instead and the artist gets paid!!! SIMPLE!!
(p.s. I have no affiliation with choon other than using it!! ... just think its a winner!!)

You totally don't sound like they pay you at all.... hahaha :P But seriously, I 100% agree, when I heard about Choon, it sounded great for artists and listeners!
So as a listener, I should make playlists to earn Notes yea?? I've been listening to songs, but it doesn't look like I've earned anything yet! Still learning about it though :)
Merry Xmas @redrica!!!!!!!!!
Very much looking forward to your upcoming channel with Sarah:)
Thanks for letting us know about CHOON and it's the first time hearing it and sounds really cool!

That's very encouraging to hear, thank you Nathan :) The steem giveaway results post is coming up and we are also going filming tomorrow, so fingers crossed, we'll have some content out before the year ends!! Exciting :D
Choon is awesome, I realized now I hardly explained what it is in the video, but so glad to see it didn't stop people from being interested!!
Hope you and the family are well!!
Hi Redrica,
Great post - thanks for sharing the CHOON message ... it is indeed extremely useful to musicians and music lovers - decentralised industries are the future - Power to the people :D
Thanks :) I'm glad I managed to bring Choon some exposure! I have a few musicians around me, so I know how much this platform could change things for the better! Power to the people indeed!!
Beautifully done ... I look forward to listening to your music :D

I have a choon account. My artist name is That Guy. I think I’ve had the account for a few months now. I think choon.co is a pretty cool site. If you want to help artist earn on there, try creating playlists. Artists earn notes when people play their music from your playlist. I have my music set up to where I split profits with whoever created the playlist. I think it’s a great way of encouraging people to add your music to their playlist. I’ve actually acquired a few thousand notes already. Im guessing people have been adding my music to their playlists. First month or so I wasn’t earning anything when I put my music up. All of a sudden, BOOM! Now I usually earn daily. I encourage artist to add their music to the platform. The site could take off in the future and you’ll be glad you did. I’m earning notes daily for something I did months ago. I don’t see why other artists can’t do the same thing. Take care! 😁
P.S. Here’s a link to my profile on choon in case you’d like to check it out: https://choon.co/artists/clarkrankins/

Sup man!!!
for me, I use dsound, choon and musicoin.
In a nutshell, and im sure people may disagree with me, but ...
dsound = soundcloud
musicoin = bandcamp/soundcoud
choon = spotify
Thanks for the info. I am going to look into choon more after I get my current project done.
Very cool. I never heard of it, but will check it out. Thanks.

Don’t even know what it is!

It's a music streaming platform where as an artist, you can earn cryptocurrency if others play your music. And as a user, you can use it to explore new music and support independent artists!
