Love Is Like A Flower - You Gotta Let It Grow
"Love is like a flower" is a quote often attributed to the Buddha - but I always think of John Lennon. "Mind games" is a masterpiece - an honest love song. John had no qualms about writing a song with all the metaphorical power and honesty he had. He held back nothing because he wanted "real love" - a reoccurring theme throughout his music.
I came across a site today called Fake Buddha - which is what inspired me to spend an hour trying to find the best live version of "Mind Games" (it doesnt exist - the studio version is a masterpiece). "Fake Buddha" contains a whole bunch of quotes that are often associated with the Buddha - but incorrectly so. I turns out that the flower metaphor isn't actually attributed to the Buddha. We do however see it pervasively in pop culture - type it in to you-tube and see how many results you get.
