"Pink Floyd" is one of my favorite bands of all time and I felt I should recommend the record that was one of my favorite during my teenage years.
"Wish you were here" is a tribute to Syd Barret, a former member of the band, who suddenly one day appeared in the studios where the album was being recorded and the ex-companions almost did not recognize him! He was very destroyed, he who once was the absolute hero of psychedelia.
It is necessary to clarify that the album describes quite well what it was to live in a decade in which progressive rock was in the crest of the musical wave and "Shine on you crazy diamond" with its 9 parts, exemplifies very well what that movement meant.
Majestically executed by Gilmour's guitar, Waters' lyrics and Wright's pianos, the masterpiece of the album unfolds in two parts, at the beginning and at the end in its more than 24 minutes. This album sealed forever the name of these 4 Britons in the memory of anyone who ever listened to music.
"Shine on you crazy diamond" reminds me to some of the passages of "Echoes" (another of his celestial paintings included in the album “Meddle” but without the crudeness of that alien shouting and with more sideral beauty. The bridge (at 9:49), disarms me, I think that anyone who heard it ends for at least 20 seconds submerged in some parallel reality in which the only thing that is breathed is pure harmony and violet colors, then the song continues with the sax solo and you wake up ecstatic when "Welcome to the machine" begins.

The rest of the album is very good, including the track that gives the name to the album which became one of his best known hits.

Come on you target for faraway laughter, come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine!
