The Coca-Cola company uses different formulaes for their products in different countries around the world. This is usually tailored to the what the targeted country likes/desires in their beverages.

Some are sweeter than others, others have different flavour profiles introduced to more closely resemble that country's "native taste profile"

In addition the various materials used to bottle and store the product can affect its taste as can the temperature where it is stored and the age of the product itself.

Those who do the bottling can use different sizes of sweeteners, adjusting the tastes of the people in their area. In addition, the addition of chemicals also influences the different flavor of Coca Cola® in various countries. The type of water used in production also affects taste and also the safety of the drink. In some countries, especially those with high levels of water pollution, there are high amounts of pesticides.

In 2003, an Indian investigative body found that the water used by the local bottlers of Coca Cola® contained DDT and Malathion.

Well it tastes differently in different places because there are different standards of producing all around the world. Certain countries like North American and European countries get higher quality coca cola drinks while countries in Africa get lower quality drinks.

Take for example in Nigeria, a 35cl bottle of coke costs only about 80 naira which translates to about 0.25USD but the same bottle of coke costs about 4-5 times that amount in the US. So either coca cola is ripping off Americans or the quality of the coke produced in Nigeria is far lower than that produced in Nigeria.

This is understandable seeing as paying a dollar for a drink might be a bit much for people in 3rd world countries like Nigeria where the minimum wage is less that 100USD a month.

The coke formula is still the same and hasn't changed but in Countries like Nigeria, I guess some corners are cut in order to make it possible to reduce the price, that's why coke tastes different in different places.

I hope this helps.

The quanitty and types of ingredients used makes it taste different. The food and beverages regulating bodies in all countries set standards that must be met before accepting a product as good for consumption. This standards some times affect materials used in production and the quantity of such materials used.
