- Liverpool winger, Mohamed Salah, won the award for the best goal, FIFA Ferenc Puskas Award 2018. Congratulations also flowed to Salah, including from his teammate, James Milner. According to Milner, the goal that brought Salah won the award was the seventh best goal printed by him last season.

One won the FIFA Ferenc Puskas Award 2018 award because his goal against Everton on December 10, 2017 in the Premier League 2017-2018 match was considered the best. But, a slightly different opinion was expressed by Milner.

Because, according to Milner, the goal scored by Salah against Everton in the match held at Anfield Stadium was not the only best goal scored by the Egyptian passport player last season. Before the goal was scored, Milner said Salah had scored six goals that were not out of the ordinary.

This was conveyed by Milner when congratulating Salah who won the 2018 FIFA Ferenc Puskas Award 201. He said his congratulatory remarks via tweet on Milner's personal Twitter account, namely @JamesMilner.

"Congratulations Mohamed Salah for your seventh best goal last season which won the best goal of the year," Milner chirped on Tuesday (09/25/2018). Appearance that was so slick was successfully shown Salah with Liverpool throughout last season. In total, he scored 44 goals and 16 assists from 52 appearances in various Liverpool matches in the 2017-2018 season.

I think this was the most controversial among all the awards that were presented last night, Monday 25th September. There were goals that far outshone that Salah's goal, even some scored by Salah himself.

That sort of goal is what we're see nearly every week in the Premier league. The award looks every bit controversial. It felt like FIFA was simply pitying players like Salah who were available for the show but would have gone home with nothing.

If you take a look at Quaresma's goal which was also in contention, that goal far, far outclasses the one scored by Salah.

The FIFA award will lose its credibility if things like this keeps going on. It's called FIFA the best and not FIFA, the sympathetic award. There should be no sentiments attached.

I wonder how goals like Ronaldo's and Bale's that require much more technicality and skill didn't get picked and Salah's did. It's a disgrace and that just showed that FIFA awarding system is compromised.
