My Diary Game|| TERRORISM IN NIGERIA: MY WORRIES AND OTHER ENGAGEMENTS - 18/11/2025
Shot from Samsung - TV Arise News
Hello Steemians, I am @freshgrace, here to report how my day went as well as the tears in the sun for Nigeria.
Today I went to school, taught and also started setting examinations for the six (6) classes I am teaching computer studies. Leaving the school, our football tournament continues, and I spent about 1 hour listening to Arise News, which 90% talked about terrorism and genocide in Nigeria, giving the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) the opportunity to speak on the Christian attacks. Do not skip the storyline as it unfolds below.

MORNING/AFTERNOON
The morning devotion was short, as we woke up late. The time left was to battle getting to school on time. As my wife was preparing food for the boy to eat and take some to the school, I was bathing him and dressing him up. By 7:32am, the school bus was already at our location. We moved, and I am part of the school assembly. The pupils handle the conduct of the devotion. They are well taught to do so.

I entered classes and taught them and also prepared their minds for tests next week while the examination comes up in 3 weeks' time.
We were dismissed from school at 2:30pm. The bus came from the other campus in the churchyardto pick up others here to take them to their destinations. I was at home before 3pm. After eating, I took my time to sleep, waiting for 4pm to go to the YOWICCN football tournament.
EVENING
I was still resting, suddenly my phone rang and I tried to ignore it to enjoy the afternoon cool rest as my family had gone to church. This time I was not at the mercy of my son, who wouldn't allow me to close my eyes except when he sleeps. Checking the phone was the vice chairman of YOWICCN reminding me that the game is about to start while they are also expecting me to come soon. It immediately left the venue at about 4:15pm.
Today the Lutheran Church played against the African Church. I enjoyed the match. Both teams show a deep sense of professionalism and maturity. The officials reduced their errors by over 70 per cent, giving the game an interesting match to watch. The 90 minutes ended 1 - 1, but the Lutheran Church won in penalties by 6 - 5. Thursday will be the next match.

I returned home at 7:21pm. We had an executive meeting immediately after the match to further strengthen our plans for the football tournament financially and morally.
After I ate for the night, I listened to news on Arise. For the 30 minutes I spent, it was all about the terrorism. ISWAP abducted and killed Brigadier General Uba; bandits abducted 24 schoolgirlsand killed the vice principal in Kebbi State, which the senator observed; Fulani herdsmen killed Christians in Zamfara and in Taraba State destroyed 335 churches with lives taken in cold blood; and in Kaduna State, bandits abducted a Rev. Father and killed his brother. Is Nigeria a country or a graveyard? A call for an explanation from the federal government. How can a group of killers be more powerful than the federal government of Nigeria? They should tell us what we should hear.
ARISE NEWS![]()
Genocide is the story of Nigeria. The country is bathed in the pool of blood. If a general is slaughtered with a video made in the process, then the federal government can not do anything. My question: if the government cannot defend her military personnel, where is the hope of a common person?
We have too many problems in Nigeria: insecurity, corruption, and people preferring religion and politics to the lives of citizens. Hmm! It is very difficult to survive in this part of the world. Killers are moving freely and have meetings with their sponsors, while the life of a common Nigerian is at the mercy of their weapons.
I couldn't sleep from the news of massive abductions and thousands sent to early graves. Instead of politicians coming together and helping, they are busy going round on their campaigns, using the insecurities as the strength of their manifesto, knowing how much a common man needs peace and stability in this country. Each of them will tell you in their campaign they will end insurgency once being voted into office; after elections, nothing changes. For Christians the northern parts are very unsafe. The right to religion is long gone and not religious freedom at all. Steemians, thank you for praying for Nigeria.FreshGrace |
