Birthday!!!!!

I turned 27 on Wednesday and had a super fun day with my family!

The exciting thing that I want to share is the amazing gifts my husband @ohthatiscool got for me!

Pictured in the middle behind the two plants is a wondrous food processor!!!! It is a dream come true. It cuts down drastically on time spent going at veggies with a knife or grating anything. It also is much safer as my fingers have suffered a few scary cuts while trying to julienne carrots.

Somewhere during the day, my husband asked, in a slight downhearted manner, what he can do now since he wants to go buy me an icecream or something, but can't. (This refers to my decision to not eat anything that isn't nourishing.) Then he came with the best follow-up he ever could have had... "What if we go get you new plants?"

The excitement that such a question can spark in me, hey... Now we're talking. I spent easily more than 30 minutes looking at the different herbs at the nursery to finalise my top 2 options. I ended up choosing lemon verbena (it smells amazing!!!!!!!!!) and curry plant.

I chose the lemon verbena for it's anti-inflammatory characteristics, and I read that it can help with building muscle!

The curry plant fooled me. I chose it for culinary uses, as I want to stop using irradiated spices, and it's so satisfying to go to your garden to get ingredients for cooking. I do know about the other curry leaf plant, because my grandmother has it in her garden.

But I didn't know that the one that I bought at the nursery was a fake (in terms of culinary uses). As I was googling in the car, so happy with my purchases, I saw that my so-called curry plant has a very bitter taste and merely smells like curry. One website even says it's leaves aren't edible.
But I did come across some very exciting uses for the curry plant as a local anaesthetic agent!! I decided to keep it, instead of exchanging it for one of my other options, so that I can explore it's pain relieving properties.

If anyone has any ways for using these plants, please let me know in the comments! I am excited to learn more about them!

Wishing you a belated Happy Birthday! 🎂

Oh it's always great to get plants! I have lemon verbena and it's amazing.. great to dry and have as a relaxing tea, or put in with rice or roast chicken.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! 🍉🍒🍓🍍

I found some nourishing emoji instead of cake or wine!

Nice curry plant. I saved one from another person who does not like the strong smell of the plant and pulled it out. It’s now trying to recover, I hope I’m not going to loose it.

Wish you a very Happy Birthday and best wishes 💖

Sounded like you had a wonderful birthday. I'd love to go plant shopping for my birthday. Hope you have a wonderful year too!
