The beautiful peacock

in #nature7 years ago (edited)

There are many peacocks in the world, especially in zoos, but did they know that they came from far away? They came literally from the other side of the world, that is, from Asia (Pakistan, Sri Lanka and India).
The peacock can reach more than 2 meters in length (including the tail) and 80 cm in height. It weighs approximately 4 kg. The males are larger and more striking than the females.
Because they have a different beauty, mainly due to the feathers and colors of the tail, our peacock friend is considered an ornamental bird, that is, it is like an exotic pet.

Have you ever imagined creating a bird as beautiful as this one? And the good thing is that there are several species of peacocks:

Have you ever imagined creating a bird as beautiful as this one? And the good thing is that there are several species of peacocks:

Peacock's favorite foods are: fruits, seeds, leaves, petals, insects and small mammals and reptiles. Usually, they feed twice a day: morning and afternoon.
They like to spend the night at the top of the trees, and when they are threatened, it is because of the trees that they flee. And a tip for anyone thinking of having such an animal is to cover their ears, because at nightfall, they usually scream, being that at the time of mating, their nocturnal cries become extremely unpleasant.
The peacock can become a great companion of pets, since they live on average 30 years.
