The Bald Eagle stopped by this morning - Phone camera thru monocular
Our Bald Eagle friend stopped by this morning and perched in the tree next to our house. We have the windows open at night for the cool air so we were able to hear it anywhere in the house as it screamed and screeched. Only after we went outside and acknowledged it did it chill out. Then after I had gotten a few shots, with my phone camera stuffed against the monocular to try and get a bit closer shot, it took off to the southwest.
This is with max zoom and no monocular for an idea of the amount of extra magnification provided by the monocular.
I like to think that the Bald Eagle will and does remember us.

It's nice it wanted to say hi!
Over the past few weeks I have gotten a lot of awesome information from article I have read on #steemit. It just so happens I have a monocular and a smart phone and I have never thought to put the two things together. You my new friend....Huge Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Thank you for sharing.
No problem. You can see in the image that there is a waviness to it and I don't remember that with using one side of my small binoculars. But now I need to try it some more to find out. You have to wallow the two around a bit to get it to sit right. OR if you plan to do it regularly you can use some epoxy, sugru, or dremel a trough that the eye piece rubber will seat against so there is never any guessing. Also can cut down the rubber lip on eye piece to fit closer and better.
thats pretty amazing shot
I tried to do this with binocular, didn't work! Hahah gotta find a long zoom lens for my phone somehow! Haha always lots of birds to photograph!
Glad to see it in a tree this time!!
Same here, it is in the tree and flying! I am super happy as that was my only goal, get it back with family to teach it to fly so it can be an eagle. And there it is!
So glad it happened perfectly!
He definitely remembers what you did, and where you live. Birds are incredibly intelligent animals.
by the pictures, it could be a pigeon)
