Visit to the Samariapo River

in #nature22 days ago (edited)

On our trip through Amazonas this time, we wanted to explore the town a little more, so we visited a lovely place called Puerto Samariapo. As its name suggests, this place is a port—that is, many boats used to set out from there down the river to reach the indigenous communities along the Orinoco River. However, these days, when the river is low, boats no longer depart from there.

But I want to tell you about a very beautiful spot in Puerto Samariapo. Although the town itself isn’t very big—we basically walked through the entire town in a single day—there are a few other indigenous communities in the surrounding area that are separate and a little farther away. On one of our visits, we came across this lovely spot—the Samariapo River—a river with a distinctive color where locals often swim and, in some areas, wash their clothes.
