What is that smell? :

We actually had an overcast morning for a change which produced a little rain. By the afternoon the sun came out again, and you wouldn't think we had had any rain at all.

One thing that I did notice though was a distinctive smell in the air after the rain shower. This phenomenon happens after a long dry spell. Then when it rains, a musty , earthy smell can be detected.

To me, it smells like damp dust kicked up by the rain drops hitting the ground. Thats just my theory, I could be wrong.
