WILD TURKEYS

in #nature6 years ago

Red-Pepper noticed these while we were on a drive recently.

A few of the "toms" (the big make turkeys) were fanning out their tail-feathers, but they didn't want to face the camera when doing so. I tried for a while to see if they'd turn around, but they just weren't interested. Perhaps we will get some turkeys one day from @shalomacres and just raise our own, but we will have to see. Also, these photos were taken at quite a distance, so they are not the sharpest, but they still show off the incredible beauty of these wild birds. Enjoy!

A WILD FLOCK OF TURKEYS

As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:

Wild life is beautiful....:)...

It doesnt matter whether the photos were taken from a far, what I see here is a fantastic display and beauty of good life nature on those turkeys.
They are really looking good you know

My son saw a tom the other day on a nature walk at school, he was amazed by all the colors, he compared it to a rainbow.

Amazing photography @papa-pepper, i like it

The pictures are still OK even though they are taken from quite a distance.

I run away from Turkeys except when they land in my pot of stew lol.

I keep some of them sometimes when i other for my broilers but just a few because they get wild fast and it's not that easy controlling them except in a fenced farm.

Beautiful creatures.

We have large flocks of wild turkeys in our area. The toms certainly seem to be camera-shy when displaying their lovely feathers. Sometimes the flocks spend a great deal of time in our yard. We had to put extra fencing around our garden to deter them from walking right in and ruining the plants. They can still fly in, but usually don't bother. Like deer, turkeys are beautiful when they are minding their own business and not trying to destroy one's garden. If I am going to preserve the produce for my own family to eat all winter, I have to keep the wildlife out all spring, summer, and fall. There's plenty out in the fields and woods for the critters to dine on instead!

Very good photo proof. I like this.
