Commonly known as the 'pocket book plant' due to its unique shape.
The flowers of this plant resemble small purses or slippers, making it distinct from other plants. Its flowers are mostly bright yellow, orange, and red. Its velvety, wrinkled, dark green leaves enhance the color of the flowers.
It can be grown outdoors, but it has some specific requirements: it prefers bright but indirect light rather than direct sunlight. Direct sunlight can scorch its delicate leaves. This plant thrives in a cool environment. It does not like extreme heat; therefore, it is best kept between 10°C and 18°C.
Its soil should always be kept moist, but watering should be avoided. When watering, be sure to avoid getting water on the leaves or flowers. This plant is often given as a gift and is a popular option for enhancing home decor in spring. However, most people grow it as an annual because after flowering, it is a bit difficult to preserve for the next season.
