Farms aren't just places to grow crops; they're not just for beauty, but provide many vital benefits to both farmers and the environment. First and foremost, trees play a vital role in soil and water conservation. Tree roots hold soil together, preventing soil erosion caused by strong winds and rain. Their leaves reduce the direct impact of raindrops, slowing them down before they reach the ground. Furthermore, trees conserve soil moisture through their shade. Second, trees promote biodiversity. They provide habitat for birds, insects, and small wild animals. Many of these organisms are beneficial to crops, such as pollinators that increase crop production and predatory birds that control harmful insects. A healthy farm ecosystem helps reduce insect infestations, thereby reducing dependence on chemical pesticides.
खेत सिर्फ़ फ़सल उगाने की जगह नहीं हैं; वे सिर्फ़ सुंदरता के लिए नहीं हैं, बल्कि किसानों और पर्यावरण दोनों को कई ज़रूरी फ़ायदे देते हैं। सबसे पहले और सबसे ज़रूरी बात, पेड़ मिट्टी और पानी बचाने में अहम भूमिका निभाते हैं। पेड़ की जड़ें मिट्टी को एक साथ रखती हैं, जिससे तेज़ हवाओं और बारिश से होने वाले मिट्टी के कटाव को रोका जा सकता है। उनकी पत्तियाँ बारिश की बूंदों के सीधे असर को कम करती हैं, जिससे वे ज़मीन तक पहुँचने से पहले ही धीमी हो जाती हैं। इसके अलावा, पेड़ अपनी छाया से मिट्टी की नमी बचाते हैं। दूसरा, पेड़ बायोडायवर्सिटी को बढ़ावा देते हैं। वे पक्षियों, कीड़ों और छोटे जंगली जानवरों के लिए रहने की जगह देते हैं। इनमें से कई जीव फ़सलों के लिए फ़ायदेमंद होते हैं, जैसे पॉलिनेटर जो फ़सल का प्रोडक्शन बढ़ाते हैं और शिकारी पक्षी जो नुकसान पहुँचाने वाले कीड़ों को कंट्रोल करते हैं। एक हेल्दी फ़ार्म इकोसिस्टम कीड़ों के इंफ़ेक्शन को कम करने में मदद करता है, जिससे केमिकल पेस्टिसाइड पर डिपेंडेंस कम होती है।
