Nursery plants are often labeled 'root bound'
ek svasth paudhe kee neenv usakee jadon mein hotee hai. narsaree ke paudhon mein aksar root baund (root bound) hone kee samasya dekhee jaatee hai, jahaan jaden gamale ke andar gol-gol ghoomane lagatee hain. saphed aur lacheelee jaden: yah sakriy vikaas ka sanket hain. vistaar: jadon ka ghanatv aisa hona chaahie ki ve mittee ko pakad kar rakhen, lekin gamale se baahar bahut jyaada na nikalee hon. paudhe ka tana usaka kankaal hai. narsaree mein milane vaale chhote paudhon (saplings) ka tana seedha aur majaboot hona chaahie. gaanthon kee dooree (intairnodais): yadi do pattiyon ke beech kee dooree bahut jyaada hai, to isaka matalab hai ki paudhe ko paryaapt roshanee nahin milee hai (ise laiggy hona kahate hain). chhaal kee sthiti: tane par kisee bhee prakaar kee daraar, phaphoond ya kaale dhabbe nahin hone chaahie. pattiyaan paudhe ka paavar haus hain. inakee banaavat se paudhe ke poshan ka pata chalata hai. rang aur chamak: pattiyaan apanee prajaati ke anusaar gahare rang kee aur chamakadaar honee chaahie. peelee padatee pattiyaan aksar naitrojan kee kamee ya ovar-votaring kee or ishaara karatee hain. naee vrddhi (naiw growth): paudhe ke ooparee hisse par naee komal pattiyon ya kaliyon ka hona yah darshaata hai ki paudha vartamaan mein badh raha hai.

The foundation of a healthy plant lies in its roots. Nursery-grown plants often exhibit a condition known as being 'root-bound,' where the roots begin to circle around inside the pot.
White and Flexible Roots: These are indicators of active growth.
Spread: The density of the roots should be such that they firmly hold the soil together, yet do not protrude excessively from the pot.
The plant's stem serves as its 'skeleton.' The stems of young plants (saplings) found in nurseries should be straight and sturdy.
Internodal Distance: If the spacing between two leaves is excessive, it indicates that the plant has not received sufficient light (a condition referred to as being 'leggy').
Condition of the Bark: The stem should be free of any cracks, fungal growth, or dark spots.
The leaves act as the plant's 'powerhouse.' Their appearance reveals the plant's nutritional status.
Color and Luster: Depending on the specific species, the leaves should be deep-colored and glossy. Yellowing leaves often signal a nitrogen deficiency or over-watering.
New Growth: The presence of tender new leaves or buds at the top of the plant indicates that it is currently in a phase of active growth.
