Sunflower is a symbol of beauty
The sunflower is a beautiful, vibrant, and energetic flower, known worldwide for its medicinal properties, beauty, and function. Scientifically, it is called Helianthus annuus. This flower is famous for its unique characteristic—as its name suggests, it follows the sun.
The sunflower plant is tall and sturdy. Its stem is long and rough, bearing large, dark green leaves. The flower's most distinctive features are its center and petals. The center of the flower is flat and dark brown or black, containing thousands of tiny flowers (florets) that later develop into seeds. Surrounding it are long, golden-yellow petals, giving it a miniature sun-like appearance. Its most distinctive feature is heliotropism. When young, the flower faces east in the morning and rotates westward with the sun's movement throughout the day. At night, it turns back eastward.
