Uninvited guest at the door: a monkey

It was early in the morning, the sun's rays had just begun to shine on the courtyard, when suddenly I sensed some movement at the front door. When I looked out the window, I saw a large monkey perched comfortably on our doorframe. The sight was as interesting as it was a little scary.

The monkey sat deep in thought, like a philosopher. He had his hands on his knees, and his brown-gold tail swayed behind him. His bright eyes were intently observing the neighborhood's activities. Sometimes he would scratch his head, sometimes he would stare at a squirrel passing by. It seemed as if he was the real owner of the house, standing guard.
