Clammyweed (Polanisia dodecandra)
A very interesting flower in my yard!
Clammyweed is a Host plant for cabbage white and Great Southern White butterflies.
Here's a little more info about these flowers.
Did you know the Partiko app only lets you post one image with their app!
What’s up with that?
So my plan is to edit and add more photos once I post it!
Now that I have posted with the Partiko app, I will only be using it for commenting and upvoting because you can only put one image in your post and you can't use markdown.
I had to edit this after it was published on Partiko and add the other photos and add the markdown I like to have in my posts.
So I guess I will be sticking with Busy and Steemit.com for creating my posts.
Have a Blessed Day!

It is a quite unusual flower, for sure. Never seen anything like it:)
Interesting flower @violetmed. Looking forward to more pics. btw what do you think of partiko? I notice lots of people using it but I haven't tried it out.
Well Partiko gives you 3000 points to download it and get on it the first time and then 10 points for checking in each day, 30 points for posting and 0 or 20 points for upvoting and commenting. At some future dates the points might translate into something else like an SMT perhaps - that's what my son thinks or read somewhere. Anyway, if you like to publish posts with only one image and no markdown, then you will like posting on Partiko. See my other comments about Partiko above!
Ah, I understand. I have also been seeing many people using this app and wondered why. Too bad it's iOS only. I prefer posting from my computer. Oh well, maybe I'll try it out just for comments and upvotes as you suggest.
Thanks for the info!
No, there’s an android version of partiko also!
These flowers are different and very delicate, @violetmed. Do they smell? They seem to be very fragile. I've never seen them before!
Haha, yes these leaves, stem and pods of these flowers are kind of stinky, but the flowers don't really have a smell.
I don't think I know about this kind of flower in my country, @violetmed. I didn't know her. They're very pretty and delicate. It looks like a family of lilies! Do they smell good?
No, they don't really have a smell!
Should call it the cat whisker plant.
Perhaps you are right!
howdy this fine evening violetmed! now that's one unusual flower you got there, I don't know how you have so many different ones but it's a wonderful flower!
I bought this flowering plant at a native plant sale in 2012 in Dallas. It has reseeded in my yard every year since then!
ha! well that turned out to be a great investment! say, does your husband love flowers as well or does he leave that all up to you?
It's basically one of my hobbies and passions! He enjoys seeing the butterflies that the flowers and plants bring to our yards - we have a large picture window onto our backyard from our gameroom turned into computer room. He takes care of the mowing of the grass. trimming our trees and I do all of the planting of the flowers. He will go to the plant sales to help me load up plants and heavy soil!
howdy back again violetmed! by "heavy soil" you mean enriched or fertilized or something? are you saying your office faces the garden because that sounds wonderful!
Ha ha, no any big bag of garden soil is too heavy for me to lift and and load into a shopping cart or our trunk! Yes, our office window faces our backyard flower garden!
oh ok by heavy soil you really mean heavy soil! lol. is there anything to look at in your garden in the winter time so the view will be nice all winter?
Well, in the fall there will be a few flowers, but in the winter, we just enjoy seeing the blue sky through the bare tree limbs. Of course, we have green leaves on flowers and plants until our first hard freeze which might not be until late December some years! :)
I didn't know that Partiko rule and the flower you bring us today, @violetmed. Today I learned two very different things. Beautiful images, beautiful lady.
What an interesting flower! Strange and exotic, @violetmed. I've never seen her before. It seems to have several pistils and at the end of them they look like seeds. Are they? Do they appear all year round or at a particular time of year? They really attract attention! Before I say goodbye, I want to thank you for visiting my blog. I would have made a special post for you, showing you all the flowers of my garden as you always do with us. Thank you very much! A big hug.
Well, maybe you can make a future post about all of the flowers in your garden and let me know about the post so I will go look at it! :)
Beautiful flowers @violetmed. I've not seen those before.
I didn't find partiko easy to use either so will stick with the others for now.
Looks like they are bringing out a desk top version though so hopefully that will be better. 😊
