It's hotting up
This shrub caught my eye while out and about. I have seen this plant many times before but not when it is in full bloom like this.
It is beautiful! The flowers are attached directly to the branches just under the new shoots each year. They leave behind a scar on the branches at each intersection like a marker which could be used to calculate the plants age. Just count backwards down the stem.
It probably wouldn't be accurate though. Just a rough estimate, give or take a year.
Today was just over the 30°C mark. For the next five days we expect 30+!
