Adventure; Where Does it Bring You?
Hello fellow adventurers!
Today I want to spotlight a recent climb I went on. The featured photo is of the South Sister Mountain located just outside Bend, Oregon in the United States. This beauty of a mountain is the third largest in Oregon and measures in at around 11.2 miles on the hiking trail. The summit sits at about 10,358 feet, or for those of you on the Metric System (Please U.S., please...) about 3157 meters.
We hit the trail around 0530 after a questionable night of sleep; Pro Tip: Don't forget your sleeping bag while camping in the desert. I recall talking to someone on the summit who mentioned that this mountain contained the largest glacier in the United States...not sure if that's true or not...Side note: Don't you love how nice people are on the trail?
Not the easiest climb for beginners, but the views are definitely worth it; also, if you like beer, Bend is the place to be after this climb.
Please share your adventures and/or your best climbs! Cheers!
