Upcycle : cargo pants into 2 small bags.
Long time since my last upcycling!
It has been a joy to make one item transform into another in useful way.
This was my son's cargo pants I sewed into 2 bags that could hang around the belt.
I made the smaller one first.
I cut out the pockets.
Sewed the zipper on.
The fabric was mustard yellow, so I used matching brown to cover the edge.
I attached the backside together with belt loops, added belt for decoration, magnet button, and I'm done!
Then my husband wanted it but it was too small to put his wallet and stuffs. There was plenty of fabrics left of it, so I made another slightly larger bag.
Cut some pieces out.
Added cocoa brown fabric for additional pocket.
The sides are sewed.
Then backside with belt loops attached, then it was done!

This is my upcycling, all the works and images are done by me @naomipangolin .
Very nice! I'll have to steal this idea to make myself a tech pocket! Been wanting something that doesn't dig into my thigh for pants that don't have big pockets.
Great @geekpowered! It's very simple to use the existing pockets instead of making a new, do share once it's done!😊
Yeah, I already occasionally reuse pockets on shorts that need patching or something. Just didn't think about using a fabric to line the edges and make a hanging pocket. :)

Great work!
Thank you @sweettais !

It's also so nice when others appreciate what you make and 'want one too', @naomipangolin.
I'm not sure whether or not you used a sewing machine to sew the bag; the material looks quite tough.
Yes, I am very grateful @cryptocariad!! Such a pleasure and happiness come to me when my upcycle projects been appreciated ❤️
And you are right! I didn't use machine. Too small for me to do on it, and as always, I like to be couch potato doing small crafting, hehe.
And right again! They were tough, the brown fabric was also from different pants so doubled, tripled the toughness ...if I could show you my thumb, hard as a leather now. By the end, I was using that thick skin as a thimble, strong as an iron man 😅 Still, I am thinking of a next project!
Thanks for your appreciation ❤️
Great upcycling! Growing up in a country with a permanent lack of everything we learned from an early age how to use old stuff, to get creative.
