I've never tried this technique, but have seen it used, and you are right, it does look a bit square...
Loved your grey shrug though it looks really lovely, especially that lace finish around the neck.
Thank you :-D I remember that I used two Japanese stitch patterns for the shrug. I always love Japanese designs an craft magazines.
And with the square... this explaines why it is not used so often :-D
