i'm a sucker for gothic cathedrals-- but WOW!

Okay, so if you aren't obsessed with church architecture, stained glass windows, medieval european history, and feeling simultaneously like an insignificant speck of dust in the grand scheme of time and space while also being blown away by both the skill and creativity of mankind, then maybe the crowds will drive you away from here. if not, you're in luck! (for the record, the crowds are not nearly as bad in the afternoon as they are in the morning, at least from my limited experience). my only recommendation would be to bring along some kind of guide book, because having something to read about the history and design of the cathedral i was walking through definitely made me appreciate the sights more. for the most part, however, this gorgeous sight speaks for itself.
