Twenty days after 26 August. The last clean national sheet is Saturday’s PTI / NDRRMA count. Monday did not publish a new noon bulletin that moved the big numbers. That itself is the update: the surge of daily revisions has slowed. Recovery is now one body at a time.

The only district move from Friday to Saturday was Nawalparasi East, 228 → 229. The missing total did not fall. Identification did not jump. Tibet / Gyirong remains in the earlier band of about 43 dead and 519 missing.
No fifth live rescue has been reported since 5 September.
What “bridge of hope” looks like on day 20
Last post tracked CNN’s Tadi / Devighat span and Kathmandu’s $4.78 billion reconstruction line — $57.67 million for six months, $4.71 billion after that.
That bill is still the official number. It has not been replaced. What has arrived in the days since is smaller and closer to the kitchen:
- the Devighat crossing is in use
- Krishnabhir on the Prithvi Highway is still the choke that decides whether Kathmandu cooks on LPG or waits
- The Rising Nepal spent Monday on that gas-and-kitchen problem, not on a new death-toll leap
- Parliament sits again Tuesday, 15 September
A temporary deck is not 33 motorable bridges. It is not 759 megawatts. It is why a cylinder can move one valley farther than it could on 10 September.
The UN Loss and Damage emergency track Nepal invoked is still capped near $20 million for one disaster. That math has not changed either.
The tunnels on day 20
Chilime, Upper Trishuli-3A and 3B remain the named holes. About 121 hydropower workers were still thought to be underground at the start of last week. Oxygen and pumps are in. No new voice has been logged in official wires since Sah, Maharjan, Lu Haitao and Chandika Shrestha.
Day 20 is when “search” and “recovery” use the same shovels.
What Monday changes
Friday: 1,385 recovered, Devighat open, CNN on the $5 billion band.
Saturday: 1,386.
Monday: no fresh national leap — and that is the news. The disaster has entered the week where one more body is a bulletin and five thousand missing names are a ledger.
