Subway Aggravation Fascination
If you're taking that 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,A,C,E,S,R,Q,J,Z or whatever train in New York City, you know there's a whole new world of hurt out there. Delays, delays and more delays. It sucks.
Take 10 minutes of your life and watch this awesome video by The New York Times. It explains everything and it's incredibly entertaining too. One of the cleverest videos ever. It's like a superfood that tastes great and it's good for you.

Here are my highlights:
1/ They wasted money on station upgrades that don't make the trains run better.
2/ They wasted money on financing schemes for stuff that has nothing to do with transportation at all.
3/ They wasted money on a new subway line that goes where a bus could go for a fraction of the cost.
4/ Investment in infrastructure (things you can't see) has been paltry.
5/ They spent a lot on IT, which is OK because that helps the trains a little, and keeps me in business too.
Last November the Times ran an article explaining many of the same political dynamics that brought us this mess.
Here is a live stream playback that I did on the subject:
"The train is being held in the station by supervision." What would it cost to come up with a better announcement than that old saw?
