Busy busy bee!!
They feed the chickens!
They play barbies!
They bake!
They work in the garden!
But most of all, they have fun!
As for me, Ive decided it was time to take my butt back to work... well kinda. Ive started taking a few days a week to work with the hubs. He does home remodels/ renovations, among many other things! Ive always had a dream of having a wife/ husband team, doing remodels... Similar to Chip and Joanna from Fixer Upper but Ive had this dream since I was a teenager, far before their show aired. Ive always loved to make things pretty again... to give life to a once dull thing, I just never knew how! LOL Dont get me wrong, I could throw some paint on something and call it new but I wanted to learn how to actually make it new. And in comes my "dream come true" maker! Just another way to show just how meant to be we really are.
There isnt a damn thing this man cant do! Hes been in the business for 20+ years and has had his own business for the better of 15 of those years. When he first moved to Texas from California, he was worried about how his business would go here. Being completely new to the town and knowing no one except myself and my family. I dont think he realized how much of a social butterfly he truly is! He has a way of talking to people for sure. He knows his shit and he knows it WELL!!
Fast forward 5 years and hes got 3 jobs going at once, as we speak. One thing about a small town, people talk... word of mouth can either make you or destroy you, all depending on you! Hes doing more here then he ever did in California. I couldnt be more proud of his accomplishments thus far and really the sky is the limit. The only hard thing is finding decent help! I believe thats hard in many fields... You got to weed out the ones who really want to work. Anyone can be taught a trade if theyre willing to learn! Hes had one guy whos worked with him for the past 2 years. A young guy... Hes worked with Danny since he was 19 and continues to bust ass. Other than him, hes got a few guys that come and go and they are good labor guys. Theyre tough and strong, great at demo but their skills (both actual skill of the trade and being able to follow directions) dont quite come to par. In steps me.... Im always ready to learn a new skill, whether it be drywall work, tape and mud, paint or installing new plumbing, faucets, tubs, sink or getting sweaty and dirty by doing the demo!I have a keen eye for detail and wont stop till what Im doing is right! Ill admit I was one sore momma by the end of last week. I definitely shouldve done a few squat sessions to prepare for the up and downs! My legs are just now calming down... just in time to start again tomorrow! This one should be lots of fun though. We are doing a full remodel of a bathroom and bedroom... Full... as in, down to the studs! Luckily for us, we already had the demo crew wreck shop and we have a clean work surface! I plan on taking pictures as we go with this one... maybe you can learn along with me!
Anyways, it hasnt been all work and no play! This past weekend was my nephews 4th birthday. My sister asked me to make his birthday cake for him, Shrek! Well my baking career is much larger than my renovation career! Ive made a cake or two in my past!
He was thrilled!
After party time, Danny built the swing set that JJ got for his birthday while the kiddos played in the little blow up pool grandma Diane got them. Sophie and JJ had a great time playing, they always do! They are only a half year apart in age and enjoy every moment they have together. So cute!
As for this week, Ive played catch up with the cleaning and laundry... A mommas job is never done! Got to get ready for work tomorrow and Thursday. Friday Ill be taking off to get ready for a visitor. A good friend of ours is coming to visit for a week from Indiana! Great fun to be had! Ill try to make it back before another week. Time just flies when youre having fun! ;)
Until next time Steemians,
Peace, love and getting dirty!
Looks like fun was had by all! I love Chip and Joanna! :) Awesome cakes btw! :)

Thanks momma! :D
Everyone turn and run away, just run,
cause Sophie's got, a big squirt gun.
She came for cake
that momma baked
For her cousin JJ's birthday.
a round on the swings in the shade,
then top off the day, in a make believe lake
just to make JJ's birthday great.
looks like you all had fun in the sun.
That poem was perfection my friend!! :D Thanks for stopping by!
I tried to use the pictures, it did look like everyone had fun, especially the young-uns all smiles and happy faces.

Your girl is veryyyyy adorable, she brings sunshine to wherever she goes and whatever she does!! She sounds like a fun 3-year-old to hang out with :)
Glad to hear you finally get to do what you dream of with your husband, teaming with him in the renovation works! You are one supportive wife and aunt too, @smylie2005!
She sure does! Thank you so much for stopping by and your kind words!
What a wonderful well rounded post. I love the cakes, they look so delicious. The kids are having so much fun. I am glad you are doing so well. Have an awesome day. :)
Thank you so much!! The hardest part with the cakes is not eating the crumbles left from cutting it down! They get me every time! Thanks for stopping by :)
Hi there I have been meaning to come over and see what you are up to. Beeyou suggested your blog forever ago, but you were on vacation. Yeah I am really slow.
I am sure she was sicking me on you because I was busy stalking her out that week. None the less she was right. I think the main reason I married my brute is because he can do so many things I am trying to learn.
I learned enough about dry wall to build some pretty Gothic arches in my old house.
That was enough for me, that stuff is heavy. I helped with the ceilings and was achy for days.
Sounds like you got a win/win going on there. Save on payroll and get all that together time. Remember epsom salt baths.
Love the cakes. My first job was in a bakery. I haven't done a cake in years.
What kind of vitamins you got? I need some of your energy.
Aw, how awesome! @beeyou is one of my most favorites peoples in Steemit land! ;)
Isnt it awesome to have hubs who knows how to do stuff. I swear theres not a thing he cant do! From cars to house to making me happy... complete package! <3 Yesterday I smooth coated a whole 18'x24' room with mud. My hands and arms are killing today! LOL But it looked great and is ready to paint. Thankfully I get a few days before that comes up! My little chubby fingers dont know what to think about it! Definitely going to hit the epsom salt bath here in a bit.
