Food aid has been sent to our region of Aceh Tamiang. May the new year bring us great blessings.

Hello everyone.

Hello everyone here. Even though I'm Muslim, I still appreciate your holidays because we are brothers and sisters, despite our different religions. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you. May we always be healthy and well in 2026, and may we all be even more successful in the future. May we all be blessed with long lives and be even more enthusiastic in pursuing our goals and dreams.

Today, I want to share a little with you all. After the flood, we are still healthy here, despite the many obstacles we face. The people of Aceh have always been strong in facing this because this is a natural disaster. I hope this disaster will enlighten greedy people and remind them not to destroy the forest and cut down trees indiscriminately. Because I know that Allah SWT will provide even better wisdom in the future.

The aid provided by the government, although the aid we received was a bit slow and delayed due to the difficulty of evacuation. Since December 3rd, we have been waiting for food aid at the location pictured above, as any aid that arrives there will be imported to all the refugee camps in the Aceh Tamiang region. Today, food aid has arrived slightly more than usual, and several refugee camps will be expanded today.

As the New Year of 2025 draws to a close and we move into 2026, we have received a substantial stockpile of food aid to last until 2026. Several aid routes have reached us, both by land and air. The land route is funded by donations from well-off residents in Aceh. By air, we receive aid from donations from outside the region, including Jakarta, as well as donations from China, Japan, Malaysia, and others.

Today, a large amount of food has been packaged in boxes for distribution to the displaced residents in Aceh Tamiang. These include instant noodles, eggs, fried crackers, rice, and mineral drinks like water and canned milk. This post was established on December 3rd, and now it's time to replenish our food supplies for our residents, which will be distributed individually to each refugee group.

Residents here sometimes walk without sandals on the rocky, scorching sun. Lately, it's been raining every day, but only briefly, sometimes after a heavy downpour, the sun's rays are scorching hot. Therefore, the community here needs to be especially vigilant about getting assistance, such as sandals and clothing. Many Acehnese still lack clothing for daily wear.

The situation here remains the same as it was during the floods, as many areas have yet to be evacuated. Many houses have collapsed, and there has been no housing assistance at all. We are sad, yes, we are sad, because the people of Aceh have no place to work to earn money, and their possessions are disappearing rapidly. Given the current situation, it is very difficult to explain how the people of Aceh can rebuild their homes.

There is also unclear news, as we hear it and see it in the media. We are always looking for the latest information about aid. I think it will be true, but many residents are still not trustworthy. There are many reports from abroad, from Hollywood celebrities and others wanting to donate housing and other necessities, but we always pray to Allah SWT that we will be noticed by celebrities who are able. As I said, it's not just me; the people of Aceh are all sad. That's why we are not begging, because we are in difficult circumstances, economic hardship, and other needs.

Every morning, afternoon, and evening, in the public kitchen specifically for the evacuees, whenever food aid arrives, the residents of Selingka cook together. This is to strengthen our sense of togetherness and care for one another. At every mealtime, there's always a story to entertain us, preventing us from becoming too traumatized by our daily circumstances. We sometimes cook together whatever we can find, like boiling instant noodles, vegetables, eggs, and frying things like tofu, crackers, and tempeh.

This is beyond beautiful. We don't think about the way we used to, enjoying and buying everything at the city market. We won't dwell on those moments anymore, as we're always thinking about the things we experience today, the things we experience daily here with the evacuees.

We won't even bother with electricity and the network anymore, because we're not giving up, because we understand the current situation. Among other things, the people of Aceh understand, even though they often keep in touch with their relatives and family. Every day, we manage to endure the sadness of being bored here for days. We are always grateful for what we have. Thank you for caring for the people of Aceh and Indonesia.
