I really hope to do my best here, because hope leads one by one to a beautiful path🕊️. December 31, 2025
Hello everyone.
When I wake up early in the morning, I reflect on sad things, leading to depression and despair. I think anyone can experience this, and I'm no exception. The causes are varied, such as the flood disaster the people of Aceh Tamiang are facing, as well as the constant flow of problems. For example, I'm currently in a very desperate situation. The lack of electricity and internet connection is making me ill, as I only have access to the internet for an hour or two each day.
Recently, it's been raining constantly, sometimes in the morning and sometimes at night, causing our village and the highlands of Aceh Tamiang to evaporate again. This has led to renewed flooding in some areas due to the high river levels. That's what sometimes makes me depressed when I see villages in mourning again🙂.
Especially for the network, I was very desperate, when I needed the network but the network did not support it. I really wanted to ask my relatives and my biological sister who were different from the refugee camp, because the road to my biological sister's refugee camp was still completely paralyzed, especially the distance was so far, about 8 hours on a public transportation trip, especially now that it was approaching the new year, I really wanted to hear good news from them.
Every week, during the day, at 1:00 PM WIB, we at the refugee camp would go to the river to collect water or filter it to clean it to bring back to the refugee camp. Once a week, we were always busy collecting water from the river that had been filtered using stones on the riverbank. Likewise, for flood relief, once a week, we always went around the villages in the Aceh Tamiang regency, hoping for a disaster group to provide assistance.
In the Aceh Tamiang region, Arawe village, Block A, has been flooded again due to the evaporation of water from the nearby river. Residents had long since abandoned their homes, opting to live in evacuation centers for safety. However, some residents were forced to return to assess the condition of their homes. They were all willing to salvage any valuable items they could find, even amidst the flooding.
They even took the time to wash their clothes in the evaporating water from the village. Imagine? "Do you feel at home here?" the Acehnese say. Despite the dire circumstances, they persist because they cannot afford to leave the country due to their financial constraints. However, some residents in remote villages affected by the flood, those who can afford it, have already left for temporary residence. We, the poor, cannot do anything because we cannot afford it.

Several areas of Aceh Tamiang, in the highlands or in the Arawe Block A area, have added several refugee tents provided by the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) and other government assistance. Several more tents have been erected. Hopefully, with this assistance, we can continue to live together in unity. We are deeply saddened, as some Acehnese have lost everything and have nothing left due to the devastating floods last month.
Therefore, we continue to demand swift assistance to make our lives easier and safer. Today, I also heard some news from the displaced residents. I heard that as the New Year approaches, aid is arriving from several countries, such as China and Malaysia. Hopefully, this food and medical aid will be beneficial for us and the other people of Aceh.
Every afternoon, we always prepare breakfast for tonight. We make whatever is left here for the next meal. My friend had fish, and I had some leftover vegetables. So we all worked together to make breakfast and dinner. Cooking at night is very difficult, as we have to find firewood. Sometimes when it rains, it's difficult to get out, and sometimes the electricity goes out.
Today, my friends in the evacuation center were preparing fish seasoning and some other vegetables that we mixed together. Today was the most delicious meal I've had while living in the evacuation center. We did it together to finish quickly.
The results are very satisfying, the aroma is very delicious because we cooked it using firewood, so it tastes more tempting than cooking with a gas stove. Maybe we will share it little by little with the refugee residents, because whenever there is food, we always share it, and so do others, they always help each other. Because we currently need solidarity. Life must be prosperous and share with each other, among other things.
There are no more words I want to say, I really hope that I can be successful on Steemit. This really helps me fight boredom because every day I try to find new variations for my posts. I really hope that I can be successful, because I still have big dreams and aspirations. Hopefully, I can do my best and achieve my goals and aspirations.
