Today I still have difficulty finding an internet network, and the condition of my village. January 18, 2026
Hello everyone.
People my age, whether abroad or anywhere else, will sometimes go to restaurants or coffee shops. But in Indonesia, I now go to rice paddies and highland villages. Now, it's useless for residents in villages and other areas throughout Aceh; it's no longer a way to have fun. The reason is that all Acehnese feel it.
There's not a day without a sad story, not a day without something good. We're always in a miserable state, but how can we face this? We can only surrender and be grateful. We don't have a good internet connection here. Every day, the internet network plays a joke on us; it's very difficult to find a decent internet connection.
Every morning, we always try to find an internet connection, because every morning we want to hear important information from friends, family, and relatives. Because we want information about the situation in the village, sometimes we need it most, but unfortunately, there's no internet connection at all. Things are getting more chaotic every day. Moreover, we rarely receive food aid from the government or donations.
Every morning we cook together in the communal kitchen, complementing each other and caring for each other. Today, my friends in the evacuation center and I enjoyed breakfast in the highland rice fields while searching for an internet connection so we can have one, but sometimes it's very difficult. We're anxious, we feel neglected by the state, but we remain resilient in the face of it all.

We constantly see villages affected by flooding. Ninety-nine percent of the houses in our village, located on the highlands, collapsed, forcing people to evacuate to higher ground. As I posted yesterday, no houses survived; around eighty percent of every house collapsed. To date, there has been no news of any housing assistance from the government. As I said, we feel neglected and uncared for.
The roads and villages are filled with dust, smoke, and other pollution. It's extremely dangerous for young children because the pollution in the villages is so dusty. Sometimes, parents send children to safer places to play, like rice fields and forests, to get away from the dirty air.
Every afternoon the children are very happy playing, especially today because last night's heavy rain made their playground muddy again, they are very busy playing with their friends, But in this fun situation we have to care for each other, because their place is not so safe, We are afraid that there will be unwanted things like small animals or some kind of germs. Because the water where they play is very unpleasant to look at, But what can we do, because the conditions and situation are still very bad.
