Hello everyone.

Hi friends, I couldn't be active on Steemit at all yesterday because the power went out for a whole day, the network was completely paralyzed, and my phone had no battery at all. Today I want to tell you a story. Because today I have an interesting story to tell.

You see the picture above, my friends. That's my friend in a refugee camp. That's not a river or a lake. Before the devastating flood hit Aceh, it was a remote village in East Aceh. But now, look at it, the village is like a river. It's truly amazing, isn't it? Truly, the disaster that God has given us is devastating.

This morning, the electricity was back on, but only for a few hours, and the internet connection was still available, albeit very slow. After completing some activities at the evacuation center, my friends and I ventured a few meters further to observe the conditions in the surrounding villages.

Every morning, a group of women and men in the kitchen organizes the breakfast supplies. That's why we usually have breakfast at 8:00 a.m., as the women and men in the kitchen are cooking breakfast for our evacuation group from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. So, after each activity, we take a moment to observe the conditions in the village.

At 12:00 noon, it was our second breakfast of the day, still as usual because we always cook the same breakfast: white rice, and side dishes. We were very happy even though the situation was like this, because we were always grateful to receive food even though sometimes it was a little late. Just imagine, if there had been no food aid at all due to the flood disaster, we would have been starving. So we are always grateful for what we have.

Tonight, my friends and relatives are grilling corn over a coal fire. We have a barbecue three times a week, grilling corn and sweet potatoes, which we have here. A few days ago, when our group received aid, they donated several sacks of corn. So, every night, when we're bored, we grill whatever we can find.

Moreover, the electricity goes out every night and the internet connection is completely unreliable. Sometimes we're lucky to have some battery left on our phones. But every night, we always burn wood for light. There are so many mosquitoes here; if there's smoke, they won't want to come near. That's our story for today. Get well soon, my Aceh, Indonesia.
