Aceh Tamiang region, my village is in mourning again

Aceh is in mourning again. When I heard the latest news this morning, I heard this story from residents who had gone down to the village to demonstrate, demanding assistance from the central government so we could get it quickly and so everyone could evacuate. But we are suffering. For example, we are being constantly trampled on by the government. It's truly heartbreaking.

The Acehnese people, especially through the Free Aceh Movement (GAM), want to separate from Indonesia because they feel that their identity, culture, religion, and natural resources are not respected and managed unfairly by the central government, where many of Aceh's natural resources (such as oil and gas) are only enjoyed by the center, while the promise of special autonomy has not been fully realized after the Helsinki MoU, creating deep disappointment that has triggered demands for full independence.

Every day, the situation in Aceh becomes more chaotic, especially in my village, Aceh Tamiang. I witnessed it myself on the streets of Aceh Tamiang, where people had gathered the courage to demand justice while waving the Aceh provincial flag.

The Acehnese people said that rather than starve to death due to the delay in aid, we would rather separate from Indonesia and establish our own state, Aceh. Many residents have been demonstrating for two days, demanding the UN's help to free us from Indonesia. But this has caused misery for our people, as the Indonesian military has refused to allow us to fly the crescent-star flag, the Acehnese flag.

We don't know how else to fight for this disaster so we can receive fair aid. Many Acehnese have lost their possessions and homes, and some are starving, living in small tents next to the village. We are tired, we are desperate. Now, quite a few videos are going viral on social media, showing Acehnese people wanting to separate from Indonesia. Although we are nothing to Indonesia, Aceh has significant revenues, including gas, gold, oil, and other resources.

Is it possible that Indonesia is afraid of Aceh asking for separation? A significant portion of all revenue comes from Aceh. We in Aceh are treated like servants, even though Aceh holds significant wealth and interests in Indonesia. We are not afraid. The Acehnese people know everything and cannot be manipulated. Hopefully, with God's permission, Aceh will quickly establish its own nation and separate from Indonesia, as the people of Aceh Tamiang have suffered greatly.

However, I continue to learn so I can share some videos that reflect the heartbreaking experiences of the Acehnese people. This was achieved thanks to learning, even though I'm still a beginner on Steemit, but I'm constantly learning to understand little by little.

The Acehnese people are very willing to help each other because Aceh still needs a lot of help. Only the people can help the people. However, the Indonesian military refused to allow this because the Acehnese people were flying the Crescent Star flag, the flag of the Acehnese nation. In fact, all vehicles carrying aid to Aceh Tamiang were stopped because some cars were flying the Crescent Star flag. The Acehnese people acted like this because they were fed up with being united with Indonesia.
